The Almshouse Association is a voluntary organisation with some 1800 members. It offers help advice and guidance to its members and represents them and their residents in debate and consultation with agencies such as the Charity Commission, The appropriate Government Departments, The Housing Corporation etc.

They require certain financial information and undertake regular inspections to check on the adherence to laid down standards. It is a non departmental Public Body.

Age Concern Surrey whilst being an independent local charity is also a member of Age Concern, the federation thats works tirelessly for the welfare of older people.
